Rachel is 36 years old and has been doing calligraphy since she can remember. A gift that came naturally, always having a pen in her hand. Rachel had the opportunity to have a one on one session with the now Chief White House Calligrapher who showed her some different techniques.
She enjoys working closely with clients so they can put a face with the calligraphy. It is nicer to be able to look at someone in person than to just look at pictures on a website. When Rachel does calligraphy for an event, she feels like she is now part of that event and strives for perfection. "It works better for me like this...." Rachel says that she feels that, "these days, everything is done in a hurry on a computer, it's nice to do things the way they are supposed to be done, NOT IN A RUSH!" She really enjoys making events as best as they can be. She also tries to be flexible on a lot of things. Rachel said, "If someone wants to have beautiful addressed invitations, they should be able to have beautiful addressed invitations. I like helping people make it happen."
